Aloe hybrid 'Firebird' · firebird aloe

healthy

💭 my notes Named for Fire Brandy from Dungeon Crawler Carl (book 3): a Lesser Demon, the Fire(wo)man of the Nightmare Express. The match only got better, in the book she's having babies on the train, and this aloe pups like crazy, throwing off a whole brood of offsets. An eternal flame that breeds. Arena class: Fireman.

🌿 identification

Aloe 'Firebird', a miniature hybrid aloe (family Asphodelaceae). Confirmed by the store tag plus the giveaways: coral-orange tubular flowers nearly nonstop (the 6-month run) and a clump of pups. Toxic to cats and dogs, as all aloes are. My earlier Cuphea call was wrong, the bushy "firecracker" look fooled me, but aloes throw the same orange tubular flowers and the tag plus the pups settle it.
